      GEORGE W. COLLINS, JR., PARTNER

George Collins has 22 years experience as a trial attorney and concentrates on personal injury litigation. Mr. Collins has appeared on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in achieving successful results for his clients. In addition to successfully prosecuting and defending personal injury claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, products liability claims and homeowner's type accidents, recently he won $1.3 million for a 60-year-old woman who had been choked by a police officer and became permanently partially paralyzed when she sustained a brain hemorrhage as a result. He is the chairman of the firm's Litigation group.

A former Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Collins has also defended many clients against criminal charges ranging from homicide to assaults to drunk driving. Mr. Collins has argued appeals in state and federal courts.

Mr. Collins believes that while litigation is sometimes the only effective avenue for resolving disputes, it can be costly and lengthy and, therefore, every effort should be made to explore less costly and lengthy dispute resolution methods such as mediation or arbitration. With that said, however, Mr. Collins has taken approximately fourteen favorable verdicts recently in one year, an office record. Like most of his litigation colleagues at Bouvier Partnership, LLP, he annually faces more juries than practically any other litigator in upstate New York.

Mr. Collins is the recipient of a Trial Advocacy Diploma from the American College of Trial Lawyers and National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and a member of Who's Who in American Law as well as the prestigious International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC invites for membership only those trial attorneys who have achieved a level of prominence and expertise in litigation and are recognized as such by their peers. Mr. Collins has also lectured on various litigation topics at the request of the Erie County Bar Association.
